Finding Yourself

I like the energy of this phrase: Finding Yourself.

It involves the idea that an essential you has always existed. That you can exist but lose sight of yourself. This is what most of us do at some point: lose sight of ourselves, our true selves.

Losing sight equals surviving. It’s having a 9/5 or, even worse, an 8/8 workday, running around like crazy, being hostage to the traffic for hours, sinking into the TV screen, or your social media profile, sleeping 5/6/7/8 hours and ... starting over the next day. One day after another, one week similar to the other…

In this sequence you exist but you cannot see yourself. You are numb and autopilot is at the wheel. Lack of awareness, life by habit only.

But one day something happens that suddenly lifts you up from your slumber, an unexpected event, a tragedy, joy, something strong or precise, an emotional shock or a person, a book, something that breaks the routine of your thoughts and your habits ... and suddenly you see the trap you are in.

From that moment on nothing can be the same again. You have seen what you've seen and you do not like it. Because it speaks of defeat, of failure, of abandonment.

But abandonment of what? Of all your dreams, your energy, the amazing projects you had.

You had dreams, don’t you remember? You wanted to be different, everyone said that you were special...

Now you look in the mirror and it’s like seeing your parents, because you have the same color.

The color of tiredness and defeat.

Have I scared you? Great. That was exactly what I intended to do; if you can understand this you're still in time. You can change your path.

You can find Yourself.

You can remove the dust from your dreams, energize your batteries.

Life is not something you delegate to your subconscious mind. Life belongs to you and you can constantly shape and re-create it in your own image and likeness. But if you don’t do this, no one else will do it for you.

You can keep bearing your despotic boss who ruins your days and weeks; you can spend hours of your life lined up in traffic; you can continue to dream of weekends that will never happen; but you can also choose that this is enough.

You can decide that you want a new beginning.

Because you're much more than any label that you or the other attach to yourself.

You are a being with an incredible potential, with a brilliant and under-used brain, with a heart full of passion and love...

The world is in such chaos that you couldn’t hope for a better time to change everything.

Stop believing all the lies that they tell you. The only important truth is what your heart tells you. Make it become your reality.

Finding Yourself is one of the most beautiful phrases in the world, it’s like being born anew.

Dear Camila, your words are so true: dust can be fear. The more you ar covered with it, the most powerless you feel.
But you have, metaphorically, open your windows and with the light that is entering you can see the dust and start to clean it. Don't think "Gosh is so dirty here!".
Just take a step a day and I promise you that your true colours will again shine in their full brightness soon.

    Love,

This really resonated with me. It is so true that we can find ourselves slowly being covered by the dust of conformity, of what others thing we should be or do. And then slowly lose ourselves. For me this is a big part of why I decided to do this course. I want to go back to what my true essence is and after so much dust it becomes even difficult to identify what is it that I really want. Why I am doing things - because I think I HAVE to or because I WANT to. The more dust (and I think that dust is fear) the harder it is to see what is really inside - or even to recognise what the dust is. Hopefully it will be like being born anew!
